Mental Health Supports

Nee Kee Wa Nan is committed to supporting Survivors, Intergenerational Survivors, and the community of Fort Albany in healing.

In doing so, a Healing Team, that embraces both Indigenous and western mental health and healing approaches, has been assembled. The Healing Team supporting Nee Kee Wa Nan consists of:

Agatha Nakogee

Thomas Scott

Frances Whiskeychan

Patrick Etherington

Theresa Sutherland

Celine Sutherland

Each week, a rotating member of the Healing Team will be present in Fort Albany, working out of the Initiative office, 19 Riverside Road. This rotation system of support has been developed out of recognition that everyone heals differently and various styles of support may be required in Fort Albany. Healing Team members are available for home visits, office appointments or may be leading community activities.
